For the benefit of readers, I would like to let everyone know that Pitru Paksha (Shraadh) will be on between 20th Sep and 4th October. So, please refrain from griha pravesh, marriage, buying anything new or any other auspicious activity. During this paksha (fortnight), people offer their tribute to their fathers and forefathers who have already passed away. So, this period is not considered favorable for any auspicious activity.
पाठकों के लाभ के लिए मैं यहाँ बताना चाहूँगा की 20 सितम्बर से लेकर 4 अक्टूबर के बीच में श्राद्ध (पितृ पक्ष) रहेंगे इसलिए गृह प्रवेश, विवाह, नयी वस्तुएं खरीदना इत्यादि किसी भी शुभ कार्य का इस समय के बीच में करना ठीक नहीं है । इस पक्ष में लोग अपने पितरों को श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित करते हैं और उनका श्राद्ध करते हैं इसलिए यह समय किसी भी शुभ कार्य के लिए उचित नहीं है ।

Hello Gauravji.....It was really wonderful to go through your blog.....highly commendable efforts of urs.......I too would like to seek some advice from your vast knowledge...my father died last year 23rd October 2012 on ramnavmi....this year we will be doing his barsi on 13th september as per tithi.....Can u tell me apart from Gau daan what else we can do so that his soul gets maximum benefit and he gets the least sufferings.......we want him to rest in peace......any other offerings any upaay that we can do for him.....plz tell me sir...it would be so so sooo kind of u

DeleteProcedures bit detailed and difficult to explain here. I would advise you to discuss it with a competent pundit in your city and get the shraaddh procedures done for your father.
