I am going to talk a bit about the Hindi Ashvin month in this post.

Ashvin is the 7th month in the Shaka calendar. It corresponds to September- October months of Gregorian calendar. It falls in the season of Sharad(Autumn). Ashvin begins with the Sun's entry in Virgo.  

This year Ashvin month starts from 7th September and ends on 5th October. 

Main Festivals and Fasts During Ashvin Maas This Year:

Festival/Fast Name	Date
Shradh (Pitri Paksha)	Till 20 September
Jeevit Putrika Fast This fast is observed for the long life of children	13 September
Shaardiye Navratra	21 September to 29 September
Vijay Dashmi (Dushehra)	30 September
Sharad Purnima	5 October
Kartik Snaan Starts	5 October

What Should be Done During Ashvin Maas to Get Good Results:

Shradh: Sesame seeds, barley, rice, ganges water etc. should be donated during the Pitri Paksha in the memory of late elders. 


Shaardiye Navratra: Ghat Sthaapana muhurta will be on 21st Sep between sunrise to next four hours. Durga Saptshati should be recited daily from first tithi till 9th tithi. Apart from Durga saptshati, this mantra should also be recited daily for as much as one can. 
"Om Jayanti Mangalaakaali Bhadrakaali Kapaalini | Durga Kshamaa Shiva Dhaatri Swaaha Svadhaa Namostute | Aagachch Varade Devi Poojam Grihaan Sumukhi Namaste Shankarpriye || " 


Sharad Purnima: Fasting should be observed on this day and Lord lakshminarayan should be worshiped. Kheer (Rice Pudding) should be made on this day and kept in moon light in the evening for whole night. Next morning, it should be eaten by the whole family. This kheer will be very nourishing and it will give benefits in many physical and mental ailments.

इस पोस्ट में मैं अभी आने वाले अश्विन मास के बारे में लिखूंगा।

अश्विन मास हिंदू कैलेंडर सातवां मास होता है। ग्रेगोरियन कैलेंडर के सितम्बर-अक्तूबर महीनों में अश्विन मास पड़ता है। अश्विन मास शरद ऋतु में आता है। इस मास में सूर्य कन्या राशि में होता है।

इस साल अश्विन मास 7 सितम्बर से शुरू होगा और 5 अक्तूबर को समाप्त होगा। 

अश्विन मास के प्रमुख व्रत व त्यौहार :

त्यौहार/व्रत का नाम	तारीख
श्राद्ध (पितृ पक्ष)	20 सितम्बर तक
जीवित पुत्रिका व्रत संतान की दीर्घायु के लिए यह व्रत रखा जाता है।	13 सितम्बर
शारदीय नवरात्रे	21 सितम्बर से 29 सितम्बर तक
विजय दशमी	30 सितम्बर
शरद पूर्णिमा	5 अक्तूबर
कार्तिक स्नान आरम्भ	5 अक्तूबर

अश्विन मास में सुख समृद्धि पाने के लिए क्या करना चाहिए :

श्राद्ध: अपने दिवंगत पितरों की याद में तिल, जौं, चावल, गंगा जल इत्यादि का दान करना चाहिए। 

शारदीय नवरात्र: घट स्थापना का मुहूर्त 21 सितम्बर को सूर्योदय से अगले 4 घंटे तक रहेगा। प्रतिपदा तिथि से लेकर नवमी तिथि तक रोज़ दुर्गा सप्तशती का पाठ करना चाहिए। इसके अलावा आगे दिए हुए मंत्र का भी पूरे नवरात्रों में ज़्यादा से ज़्यादा संख्या में जप करना चाहिए। 
"ॐ जयंती मंगलाकाली भद्रकाली कपालिनी । दुर्गा क्षमा शिवा धात्री स्वाहा स्वधा नमोस्तुते । आगच्छ वरदे देवी पूजां गृहाण सुमुखि नमस्ते शंकरप्रिये ।।"

शरद पूर्णिमा  इस दिन व्रत रखना चाहिए और भगवान् लक्ष्मीनारायण का पूजन करना चाहिए। इस दिन खीर बनाकर चन्द्रमा की रौशनी में सारी रात रखनी चाहिए। अगली सुबह यह खीर पूरे परिवार को खानी चाहिए। इससे कई शारीरिक और मानसिक व्याधियां दूर होती हैं।
